Sleeping Beauty in the Wood, Little Angel Theatre
Magical puppet theatre with music and more - for ages 3+, and with special shows for babies...
For a gentler way to keep the kids entertained this half term, book your tickets now for Sleeping Beauty in the Wood at the Little Angel puppet theatre in Islington.
If you haven’t been here before this is truly a gem of a place. Walking down Dagmar Passage, the little alleyway that leads to the old Temperance Hall , there is a palpable sense that something magic is in the air. This production of Sleeping Beauty in the Wood is adapted from the fairy tale with music, puppets and video projections to create a dreamlike fantasy for ages 3+. Babies and little ones under 3 can come to the Baby Friendly performances detailed on the website.
On Wednesday 19th you can book into the theatre’s Sleeping Beauty in the Wood Funday (ages 5-11) – watch the show, and then spend the rest of the day making puppets and learning how to use them. To make the whole experience even more perfect there’s DELICIOUS coffee you can pick up from the proper Italian deli on Cross Street, as well as cheap and cheerful pasta for the kids after the show. If you live in North London, check out their Saturday puppet classes during termtime, one of the most inspirational run of classes we’ve seen in London.
Running time: 1 hour 10 minutes (including an interval)
Tickets: Adults £12, Children and concessions £10, Fridays at 5pm all tickets £5
There's a special relaxed performance of the show on Saturday 35 January at 2pm: this is ideal for anyone uncomfortable with loud noises and the kinds of sudden lighting effects that are often used in theatre productions - including children with special needs. Tickets for this performance must be booked over the phone: 020 7226 1787
