In the run up to Christmas the Barbican are staging two very special events that contain something for all the family. Classical overtures and popular animation collide as film editions of the children’s classics The Gruffalo and Wallace & Gromit are projected big-screen with live orchestral accompaniments.

The series begins on the 21st December with a double bill of the Gruffalo and its sequel The Gruffalo’s Child. Based on the much-loved stories by Julie Donaldson, the animated versions have captured children’s hearts and attention with enchanting visuals. Adventures in the deep dark wood will be further brought to life through René Aubry’s score performed by The Royal Northern Sinfonia and conductor Terry Davies. Don't miss out on a new way to experience these charming tales. This is also a perfect  way to introduce younger children to the excitement of a live orchestra! Book now to avoid disappointment.
