Jungle Book, Little Angel Theatre
A vibrant puppet show casts new light — and shadows — on Kipling's classic tale.
Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book is an enduring classic adored by children and adults alike, and its loveable characters are firmly anchored in our affections. Yet the Little Angel Theatre’s retelling of this timeless tale will surprise and delight you at every turn, casting new light — as well as shadows — on the magic of the original story through its unique brand of puppet theatre.
Mowgli’s adventures are revealed through shadow puppetry. The contrasting light and shade projects the novel's vivid colour and imagination through a combination of bright digital projections. Original music by Haviel Perdana lends the story a renewed warmth and vitality, without sacrificing the sense of nostalgia that makes the characters such as Baloo the bear and Shere Khan the tiger timelessly popular.
Steve Tiplady directs this production from Indigo Moon Theatre, a company whose passion and expertise for the traditional art of puppetry shines through in its range of visually breathtaking performances of classic stories.
