If you and your kids have a penchant for the weird and wonderful, then Get Happy could be just your cup of tea. Brought to you by Told by an Idiot, an innovative theatre company that Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy has described as 'the most exciting, enthralling and energising presence in British Theatre', Get Happy was commissioned by the Barbican and will play at this renowned arts venue from 12 – 29 December.
A fantastical spectacle combining performance, dance, music and comedy, this multifaceted and alternative production would make a great festive outing for families that are a little tired of more traditional Christmas theatre. Expect the unexpected in a fun-filled show featuring mysterious noises, a blossoming romance between an opera singer and a gorilla, and the creation of the strangest egg sandwich ever made...
With such diverse influences as the comic Charlie Chaplin, the surreal visions of Dr Seuss and the dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch, Told by an Idiot put on a truly unique show that must be seen to be believed.
