Memory Machine, Somerset House
This June, make memories about making memories at the Memory machine workshop, Somerset House
Coinciding with the London Festival of Architecture, the Memory Machine workshop wants you to map your London – one that’s unique to you and your family.
Use a combination of drawings and collage techniques to chart London’s architecture, via your shared memories.
With Somerset House as the starting point, families map outwards across the city to homes and favourite places, drawing the journeys in their entirety. Guests are invited to chart these personal routes on the communal map to see the collective crossovers we all share as members of this bustling city.
Explore London’s historic buildings while learning about the future of city living under the tutelage of architecture scholar Charlotte Hurley, whose workshop in cerebral cartography promises to be unforgettable in itself.
For kids age 6-12
