The Future Starts Here – at the V&A, that is.
The Museum is hosting a series of free children's events over the May half-term in conjunction with their major spring exhibition. Showcasing a series of innovative designs and technologies that are predicted to impact the future of modern life, The Future Starts Here promises to be a treat for kids and adults alike.
Children can help solve the problems of tomorrow and learn more about these designs through drop-in activity stations and pop-up performances. Check out the highlights below:
Door to Design
Saturday 26 May 2018
12:00 – 17:00
The 'Door to Design' project is a V&A initiative supported by the John Lyon’s Charity. Artists and architects work with local primary schools to educate, enrich, and inspire youngsters. Their subsequent projects are displayed at the John Lyons Community Gallery (Sackler Centre for Arts Education). On Saturday 26 May, families can celebrate this bold initiative through workshops and outdoor fun at a free festival.

The Imagination Station

Get elbows-deep in design and engineering at the Imagination Station this May half-term. Children are invited to solve problems of the future posited by the V&A's exciting new exhibition. Work alongside engineers from Arup to learn more about the world of design and development with this drop-in activity.

Pop-up Performance

Get out and about with Stardust, a pop-up performance promenade that encourages little ones to explore both movement and the Museum grounds. Time travel into the future through this energetic, spatial experience of sound and dance inspired by The Future Starts Here.
