Doctor Who Time Fracture: An Immersive Adventure
It’s up to the audience to save the planet in a new immersive experience: Doctor Who Time Fracture
Doctor Who fans are invited to get a whole lot closer to the action thanks to a new immersive adventure: Doctor Who Time Fracture. The experience, which launches in a secret central London location in February 2021, puts the audience at the heart of the story, taking them on a Tardis-fuelled journey across time and space. The mission? To save the planet, of course.
Doctor Who Time Fracture: An Immersive Adventure is a joint project between BBC Studios and Immersive Everywhere, the team behind long-running immersive theatre show The Great Gatsby. With director Tom Maller (Secret Cinema’s Casino Royale, 28 Days Later and Blade Runner) and writer Daniel Dingsdale (Dark Tourism, Stardust and The Drop Off) also on board, you can expect big things.
It's 1940 and the height of the Blitz. A weapon of unknown origin has destroyed a small corner of Mayfair and opened up a rift in space and time. Planet Earth is now at stake and you, the brave hero of this story, must help save it. The experience lasts around 90 minutes, and features 'an original story arc' plus a series of ‘amazingly realised worlds’, each with challenges for the audience to overcome. Expect to meet Daleks, Cybermen and Time Lords along the way, and – in an exciting development for attentive Doctor Who fans – a character from Time Lord Victorious, BBC Studios’ new multi-platform Doctor Who story.
The production team has also recommended a minimum age of 11 years for those wishing to experience the show, citing that they hope to fill it with the same ‘hide behind the sofa’ scare-factor the TV series has been known for since it first aired in the 60s.
Those who can’t wait to secure their place on the mission can purchase advance tickets in the form of Gallifreyan Coin tokens. Each token can be redeemed for a single ticket, providing priority booking access.
