Katy AKA Kathleen Brian, graduate of the BRIT School (along with Amy Winehouse, Adele, Jessie J), found her feet on the pirate radio station Rinse FM, launched On A Mission on its way to number one one and helped secure a deal with bass peddlers Ministry of Sound. Since then she has been a club classic and festival favourite, thanks to her energetic performances and boomingly infectious dance music. 
Little Red is classic Katy B fare, but it;s a dance album with a narrative. She still gets messy n a Saturday night, but there are comedowns too - have a listen to Crying for no Reason, a ballad a la Adele. Aaliyah , a Jolene-update, features fellow South-London songstress Jessie Ware : the pair lament the perils of having a DJ boyfriend.
