Ennio Morricone, O2 Arena

Composer Ennio Morricone picked up a Golden Globe for The Hateful Eight soundtrack. He comes to the O2 Arena on February 16

Ennio Morricone
Ennio Morricone is an undisputed master of the soundtrack. He’s perhaps best known for his work with the director Sergio Leone. Who can forget the score he penned for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, complete with its howls, whistles and guttural electric guitar, or the orchestral masterpiece which accompanied Once Upon a Time in America?

But the big news of the moment is The Hateful Eight, Tarantino’s newest venture, and the first Western that Morricone’s scored in over thirty years. The soundtrack has already won the composer a Golden Globe, and, who knows, it could see him take to the stage at this year’s Oscars. It’s a decidedly grand work, taut and dramatic, and a resonant accompaniment to the film’s grisly action.

On February 16, Morricone comes with full orchestral backing to the O2 Arena as part of his My Life in Music world tour, a chance to hear compositions from throughout his career.
