Kurt Vile, Roundhouse
In support of his new album, Kurt Vile London concert set for March next year.
Kurt Vile makes laid-back, affecting music; the kind that's good to drive to, or hold hands to. Drawling eloquently over warm-hearted psychedelia, he reflects on the vagaries of modern life with wit and poignancy.
A one-time member of indie rock favourites The War on Drugs, Vile released his first solo album Constant Hitmaker in 2008. Since then he’s released a slew of records which interlace 70s rock grooves with shambling self-examination.
His sixth album, b’lieve I’m goin down… was released in September, to rave reviews. It's classic Vile, languid and melodic, but this record is more expansive than his previous. There are moments of tenderness that give you goosebumps - this is so much more than just 'stoner music'.

The album also opens with one of the best first lines we've heard in a while "I woke up this morning didn't recognize the man in the mirror / Then I laughed and I said, 'Oh silly me/ That's just me'"
