Snarky Puppy, Hammersmith Apollo
A highlight of the EFG Jazz Festival: Snarky Puppy London performance set for October.
Jazz collective of the moment Snarky Puppy take the stage at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith for their biggest London appearance yet, presenting tracks from We Like It Here and forthcoming album Empire Central, due for release early in 2016.
The Brooklynitemband’s signature blend of jazz, funk, rock and world music combines first rate musicianship and improvising prowess with anthemic hooks and singable melodies that have ensured a meteoric rise and made them a firm favourite with London audiences.
In 2014 they packed out the Roundhouse as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival and won a Grammy Award in the Best R&B category for Something, a collaboration with Lalah Hathaway from 2013 release Family Dinner - Volume 1.
Since then they’ve collaborated with Holland’s Metropole Orkest, releasing Sylva in April of this year and pushing the fusion envelope still further.
Watching them rock the Apollo will be something else and the promise of new music only sweetens the deal. Time to get booking.
