Their megalithic breakout 'We Are Your Friends'  soundtracked the summer of 2006. Since then, they've been ploughing their own furrow with thoughtful, complex techno. If you're looking for Simian Mobile Disco concerts, London is on their tour, as on September 9, they'll be debuting their latest album Whorl at Union Chapel .

Recorded live in an American desert in April, Whorl has been tweaked, mixed, and enlarged since then, before being ready for release in September.

If a mini-preview is anything to go by, it will be full of beats submerged beneath capacious, soaring synthesisers sprinkled with euphophric notes: that element to their music, so evident in 'We Are Your Friends', is a thread that is woven into the fabric of all their records.
