Graham Coxon, The Roundhouse

If you're looking for the ex-Blur guitarist Graham Coxon London concert, he's playing a retrospective on his solo career at the Camden Roundhouse in August

Even before he left Blur in 2002 before their final album Think Tank, Coxon had released three solo albums to great acclaim.

It's not hard to see why the critics liked them. From the furious guitars that barrel out after the quiet acoustic opening of 'That's All I Wanna Do' , the opening track for his debut The Sky is Too High, the tone is set: this an energetic musician who loves his craft and is revelling in the creative freedom. 

Though Coxon is something of a musician's musician (Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood once said he'd love to be compared to him), don't let that fool you into thinking that the Britpop-style hooks that made him famous are nowhere to be found in his solo work. 

Just listen to the strumming, jangly guitars and Coxon's distinctive semi-ironic flat delivery on 'Bittersweet Bundle of Misery' (from 2004's Happiness Magazines) to see that he's still got it.  

He'll be performing a solo acoustic set first, followed by a second set with his live band.

The chance to see such an influential and talented artist put on a labour-of-love retrospective is one not to miss.
