Chairlift, The Garage

Synth duo Chairlift return with a new album. Catch them at The Garage in June

Chairlift, The Garage
The past few years have been quiet for New York duo Chairlift. Until recently, the last we'd heard from them was in 2012 when singer Caroline Polachek teamed up with Beyoncé to pen ‘No Angel.’ A sizzling slow-burner, it was a stand-out track on the reigning queen of pop’s eponymous album.

Now Polachek and synth-wielding partner-in-crime Patrick Wimberly are back. Their new record Moth was released in January, nearly five years after their last long player. They duo have always drawn on the '80s playbook, and traces of their retro proclivities are on show here too. But on tracks like 'Ch-Ching', they also experiment with the staccato delivery common to much contemporary R&B.

The pair remain the reigning champions of hook-laden electro pop and we're certainly looking forward to their show at The Garage on June 9.
