Blood Orange, KOKO
In support of his new album Freetown Sound, Blood Orange plays KOKO
With four solo albums to his name, production and writing credits for the likes of FKA Twigs, Solange Knowles and Sky Ferreira, Dev Hynes is a truly prolific musician.
In 2013, he released his sophomore Blood Orange record Cupid Deluxe, the perfect marriage of heartache and 80s grooves. Now, some three years later, he’s announced a follow-up: Freetown Sound, which is named for the city where his father was born.
So far, he’s shared an album trailer, which you can watch here, and the following message on Twitter: ‘My album is for every1 told they’re not black enough, 2 black, 2 queer, not queer the right way, the under appreciated, it’s a clapback.’
We can’t wait for the record nor for the Blood Orange show at KOKO on July 5.
