Little Bread Pedlar, Bermondsey
This artisan baker sells direct to the public on Saturday mornings
This Bermondsey bakery acquired its name from its quirky delivery method: its goods are biked across town on restored Pashley bicycles. Inspired by San Francisco's Tartine Bakery, it makes its glorious artisan English bread and pastries fresh every morning and delivers them to cafés across the capital. From soda bread to prune and bacon buns, focaccia to kugelhopf, all of its bakes are top notch. The handmade English muffins are to die for.
Little Bread Pedlar only sells direct to the public on Saturday mornings from a lovely stall on the Spa Terminus Market (just around the corner from Maltby Street Market). If you want to pick up a treat or two during the week though, the beautiful Giddy Grocer on Bermondsey Street always has a few LBP goodies in stock.
