Honest Grapes: guided tasting with Lionel Faury

Are you looking to taste some delicious wines and learn a little bit more about grape variety too? Join Honest Grapes as they host an evening with wine producer Lionel Faury of Domaine Faury. The evening is a chance to sample the latest vintage releases from Lionel’s range – including varieties from Condrieu, St Joseph and Côte-Rôtie – along with some aged rarities from his personal cellar.

Lionel is known for his slow and thoughtful approach to winemaking, while his wines are admired for their rustic elegance. Since taking over the Domaine Faury business in 2006 from his father (who himself took over the domain in 1979), Lionel has seen their wines onto the front rank of the Northern Rhône’s first division.

To be technical about it, Lionel’s process avoids excess extraction with a high purity and the limited use of oak, while the wines are unfined and only lightly filtered before bottling, creating authentic aromas and flavours.
