Eleven high-profile female chefs create one-night only multi-cultural feast for Action Against Hunger in Borough Market

Imagine an eight-course, multi-cultural feast with dishes from Georgia, India, Greece, East London, Ireland, Russia and beyond cooked up by a new generation of remarkable female cooks who are shaking up the UK food scene. Organised by Romy Gill, MBE, familiar to Celebrity Masterchef regulars as a judge on the chef’s table and owner of Romy’s Kitchen near Bristol, this one-off Severn Sisters’ supper takes place in the most foodie of locations: Borough Market on 4 October.
It promises to be akin to cosying up for an evening in browsing all our favourite food writers and planning a dinner party, except they’re doing the cooking and we’re doing all the tasting.
After a successful first outing in Bristol in 2016, this is a new location, a new line-up of eleven female chefs, and an even more far-reaching sharing feast that showcases local produce, female culinary talent and the joy of sharing food.
The line-up is:
Zoe Adjonyoh, one of London’s hottest chefs/author with her own restaurant in Brixton (‘Zoe's Ghana’s Kitchen’); cool food writer/TV chef and foraged food advocate Rosie Birkett (East London Food and A Lot on her Plate); high-profile newspaper cookery columnist and author Xanthe Clay (Recipes to know by Heart); pre-eminent vegetarian cook and bestselling author Natasha Corrett (Honestly Healthy in a Hurry); Bristol based, Sunday Times bestseller Elly Curshen (Elly Pear’s Let’s Eat); Greek chef/writer/teacher who trained at el Bulli Maria Elia (Smashing Plates); Romy Gill MBE mover and shaker in the culinary world and chef-restaurateur of Romy’s Kitchen whose TV appearances include Celebrity Masterchef; Ukranian chef/writer Olia Hercules (Mamushka); Bake Off contestant and author Chetna Makan (Chai, Chaat and Chutney); Irish TV and radio chef Paula McIntyre; and cook/supper club host Alissa Timoshkina who created Kinovino marrying film and food.
The £90 tickets include a fizz and canapé reception followed by eight separate sharing dishes plus a bar service from Vino Beans.
We love the dual purpose of this event to create a platform for established and emerging female talent in the industry and to raise significant funds for the charity. All profits will go to Action Against Hunger, a global humanitarian organisation committed to ending world hunger.
As Gill says: I want to raise awareness of the incredible work that the charity does across the world whilst uniting women in the industry by cooking and sharing a feast together.”
