Ray's Bar, Dalston

New York pizza company Voodoo Ray's open a cocktail bar within their flagship Dalston eatery

Ray's Bar, Dalston
Voodoo Ray's are opening a cocktail bar with a drinks menu designed like a three-course meal. Choose cocktails from a list of Aperitifs, Mains and Desserts (complimented by NY-style pizza) in a new bar area of Ray's flagship Dalston branch, which seats 50.

The feel will marry vintage and new age: think Seventies disco balls projecting onto monochrome patterned wallpaper, and mirrored walls. Pizza will be served all the while, in Voodoo Ray's traditional by-the-slice format. Partnering with the cocktail menu for the launch is a rotation of local DJs, who will spin vinyl only, and the vibe will fuse from late afternoon restaurant to more of what you'd find in the adjoined Dalston Superstore by later at night.

Cocktail minds from recent success stories Library (the central London members club) and Hixter are behind the menu, which infuses in-house-made bitters and spirits in innovative new mixes. Across the three menus, hero cocktails cost £8 and ones not to miss on the autumn menu include Shady Pines (Gin, Strega, lemon, eggwhite, elderflower, rosemary) and the Tunnel Dancer (Lagavulin, bourbon, chilli and rhubarb bitters) in ode to the recently-closed Dalston club, Dance Tunnel. Ray's Bar will kick on until 3am at weekends, and 1am during the week.
