Brindisa Food Rooms, Brixton
Gourmet Spanish cafe expands into Brixton Village with rustic bites.
When was the last time you went to Brixton? Well south London’s most vibey community is currently the darling of the capital’s food community, the covered market restaurants proving a massive hit – at home and away. Adding to Brixton’s general deliciousness is Brindisa Food Rooms, from the restaurant mini-chain of the same name. Hidden under the railway arches on Atlantic Road, Brindisa Food Rooms is inspired by traditional Catalan Llesquerias, and accordingly, most things arrive on toast ('Llesca' literally translates as 'slice') topped with fabulous Iberico ham, cheeses, pimento and salt cod. Ingredients from the menu you can eat in the cafe can be bought at the deli next door, so it’s easy to recreate some fiesta at home, and of course there’s some excellent Spanish wine on tap to get the party started.
