Classics in the Courtyard, Hush
Nestled in the heart of Mayfair, Hush has long been the favourite dinnertime haunt of fashionable Londoners.
Nestled in the heart of Mayfair, Hush has long been the favourite dinnertime haunt of fashionable Londoners. The restaurant itself is a rather open secret, but its cinema club, otherwise known as Classics in the Courtyard truly is a hidden gem. If you are looking to enjoy a retro flick in the lap of luxury, complete with Hush's delicious food, cocktails and, of course, gourmet popcorn, (goats cheese & black pepper, double salted caramel) then look no further.
From December-March, gastronomically inclined cinema-goers can choose from a selection of masterpieces to watch on Hush’s enormous plasma screen. You can pay homage to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman by booking a table in the courtyard on 8 March, when they are showing The Big Lebowski. Or, if you are in the mood for a giggle, on March 1 you can catch the critically acclaimed Bridesmaids (2011), Paul Feig’s surprisingly brilliant chick-flick, starring Kristen Wiig. For more classic comedy, salivate over steak to Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in Some Like it Hot, when the timeless Hollywood classic enjoys an outing on 15 March.
With Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues panned by critics, Hush also offers an opportunity for the disappointed to return to the Ron Burgundy we all loved, with a showing of the original Anchorman on 29 March. After the film, we suggest you match Ron’s order, and head to the upstairs bar to enjoy a scotch, although the long fruit ‘Salto’ cocktails also come highly recommended.
Classics in the Courtyard runs until March 29. For a full list of screenings click here.
