Le Bab, Kingly Court
The team behind Le Gavroche opens a gourmet kebab restaurant in Kingly Court
New Kingly Court restaurant Le Bab isn’t your typical 5am, alcohol-sodden kebab shop.
The new restaurant, which comes from the team previously at Michelin-starred "Le Gavroche", also offers more than the usual flourish of "gourmet" burgers, fish & chips and pizza that have spared no effort in trying to claim our attention in the last years. Think refined vegetarian dishes; kebabs topped with the eastern flavours of dill babaganoush, aubergine tempura, hummus, as well as bieber, tomato relish and crispy capers. Think cool cucumber yoghurt stirred with confit lemon, mint jelly and granola.
And, while the venue caters plenty for veggies, meat-eaters will still be able to rely on traditional (and unusual) Turkish cuisine for their contentment. We love the sound of Le Bab's simple lamb shish, with burnt tomato and onion, and a dollop of sauté aubergine. Or if this isn't exciting enough, those in search of a thrill are invited to try the already popular pig's head, served with crackling, black turnip, heritage carrot, onion, molasses sauce and carrot and turnip greens.
The restaurant is located at the second floor of Kingly Court and, with the team of La Gavroche at its helm, is sure to add an interesting Turkish motive to the already existing patchwork of international restaurants. Le Bab opens to the public on 7 January.
Soft Launch
Le Bab will also be offering a soft launch for in-the-know London foodies, with 50% off the full menu – the soft launch runs until Wednesday 14 January. Click here to book.
