Following on last year's success, Food to Fork Festival returns to London this summer. On Saturday 11th June, Kensal Rise will once again play host to some of London’s top independent restaurants for a one-day family-focused culinary festival in support of the Open Air Classrooms project run by ARK Academies.

The Fork to Fork festival is the brainchild of chef Thomasina Miers (2005 Masterchef winner and founder of Wahaca – read our interview with Thomasina Miers here) and Laura Harper-Hinton (of the excellent Caravan in Exmouth Market, which this year is organising a prosecco bike), and will continue to raise funds for ARK academies and with the aim of creating an open-air classroom at Ark Franklin primary, the first of its kind in the UK. North London eating has never been so ethical.

The best new London chefs

With the likes of Miers and Harper-Hinton involved, Fork to Fork’s lineup reads like a who’s who of London’s top foodies, from Tom Aikens to The Ledbury's Brett Graham. Big names such as The River Cafe and Ottolenghi will also be in residence, along with Polpo and a great many more.

A food and drink festival with a difference

All will be serving up delicious bites, while children’s activities, live music, tastings, talks and even a secret picnic garden will keep the whole family entertained.

There will also be appearances from local brewers and distillers, including Hackney’s Beavertown Brewery, Camden Town breweries, and Bibendum Wines.

Fork to Fork London Food Festival Tickets

Tickets are a steal at just £8 (or £12 on the day) while donations toward the project are of course welcomed. Miers and Harper-Hinton hope to see this year's event outdo the last one, to further support the expansion of the Open Air project and to continue to encourage children to follow in their culinary footsteps. Of all the food festivals in London, this is definitely one to support.
