Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden
For some pre-theatre respite head to the Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden
This secret spot above the bustle of the South Bank is about as close to a wild woodland that you can get in London – with the added bonus of a well-stocked bar.
Designed by the Eden Project, the roof garden Southbank space uses an abundance of plants – over 100 varieties of native wildflowers, allotments, fruit trees – and artful theatrical lighting to recreate the effect of sunlight dappled trough trees and green glades. A gorgeous spot where the whole family can lose themselves and celebrate the sunshine.
And if you get bored, there are dozens of events lining the Soutbank and surrounding areas: from plays to immersive performances, the Waterloo area is an entertaining place to be, rain or shine.
