Continuing its series of kitchen residencies since late 2014, which in January played host to the excellent Wild Serai, the recently-opened King & Co in Clapham opened its doors in early February to Bah Bah restaurant, specialising in Persian cooking and serving up hot and cold meze plates, fragrant Sabzi stews and an ever-changing daily specials menu.

Bah Bah restaurant (which, if you didn't know, is Farsi for 'delicious!') is the brainchild of James Nicholson, whose Iranian mother instilled in him a passion for the foods and flavours of her homeland. He interprets those lessons and homespun recipes in a modern style, filtering his childhood memories of those dishes through the experience of a decade working in top kitchens such as Hawksmoor and The Palomar to create stylish, modern middle-eastern dishes rooted in family tradition, and a personal infatuation.
