Bone Daddies’ new restaurant: Shackfuyu
Never eaten Japanese food from a pizza oven? Bone Daddies’ new restaurant pop-up Shackfuyu is just the place to try it.
What is Shackfuyu?
Japanese food lovers get ready for a treat, as one of London’s best ramen bars, Bone Daddies, opens its first Japanese pop-up restaurant in Soho – with a twist.
Shackfuyu (shack translates as 'rough and ready space' and fuyu as 'winter') will be serving an ever-changing menu of small dishes and sides, bringing a plethora of Japanese flavours to the English palate and put together, curiously, in an old pizza oven.
What’s on the menu?
Ross Shonhan, the chef, will be ‘getting creative’ and warming Londoners this February with an opening menu featuring roasted picanha of beef, served with kimchee tare, and a range of sides including mentaiko mac & cheese, cock scratching and fried potatoes.
Foodies who want to know the menu before they turn up will be able to keep up to date on social media and decide each night whether the whole sea bass, pork hocks or goat look as good as they sound.
When should I go?
Shackfuyu plans to be open until next winter, so you've got a little while to try them out – guests can't book in advance, but don’t panic if when you turn up they’re on the busy side: you can while away the time in the basement kitchen / bar area with Bone Daddies’ famously delicious frozen yuzu margarita or their bottled cocktails.
