Cooking in Motion by Carousel
Looking for the best places to eat in Marylebone this week? Excite your taste buds with the Peruvian-Japanese menu at the Carousel pop-up.
Marylebone’s new restaurant/gallery/party space mash-up, Carousel, is once again playing host to some of the most exciting flavours in London as it welcomes international sensations, duo ‘Cooking in Motion’ and their Peruvian-Japanese menu.
For one week only, Argentinean chef Sebastian Mazzola and sommelière Sussia Villarico will be flying in from Patagonia, via Barcelona, to add themselves to the impressive list of chefs who've climbed aboard the Carousel. After five short days they’ll be off to Lima and on to continue their mission to explore the world, so you’ll have to be quick to catch them.
Between them, the pair have created a Nikkei (Peruvian-Japanese) menu that is the summation of their travels through the kitchens of Nimb, Noma, Geranium, El Bulli, 41° and most recently Pakta alongside the likes of Thomas Herman, Rene Redzepi, Rasmus Kofoed and Albert Adria.
Of all the adventurous restaurants in London, Carousel’s quick turn-over of eclectic and masterful chefs place it among the most exciting foodie experiences. So expect shellfish and seaweed Chilcano soup with mussels and chalaca sauce, followed by an enticing scallop and cucumber tiradito with yusu ‘leche de tigre’ (a Peruvian dish that translates as ‘tiger milk’). For main the team will then serve up a teriyaki braised pancetta with a Jerusalem artichoke puree and accompanied by sautéed Pak Choi, and, for dessert, a citrus fruit ceviche with lychee sorbet, lime yoghurt sponge cake and black sesame.
Carousel is the latest brain child of Shuttlecock Inc, award-winning creators behind pop-ups, parties and events. Enjoy this week’s offering of creative world cuisine in the stylish three-floor venue that promises pop-up dining combined with creative arts. Carousel's latest residency looks not to be missed.
