Imagine a Belle Époque brothel with piano played by Toulouse Lautrec and Charles Debussy. Now imagine a tropical rooftop jungle, throw in some trapeze artists, a couple of sword fighters and a few astronauts. Add to this heady mix some can-can dancers, a bar full of decadent and unusual drinks, an extravagant feast and a Disco Riot with roller girls and military men.
If this sounds appealing we suggest you consider The Imaginarium’s Closing Party on 20 December. Inspired by the film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus , we are convinced this spectacular will provide a truly spectacular start to your Christmas break.
Hosted at Shoreditch’s independent art space Village Underground and run by the team that brought you Wilderness Festival and The Secret Garden Party , this will definitely be a night to remember. The other nights of the run have sold out in record time so speed is of the essence if you want to find out what they have in store.
A final word of warning—this experience really is immersive. You’re likely to become stars of the show yourself and be taken to parallel universes, possibly blindfolded. Actors will freestyle around you and as this is the closing night, things are sure to get slightly chaotic. Throwing yourself into this experience whole-heartedly (but do tell the organisers if you are claustrophobic or have a heart condition).
