Rare is the meat-lover who can resist a meal that centres on a spit-roasted pig. We’d wager that the one who can maintain that restraint once they hear about Forza Win’s latest supper club is an even more unique breed.
Forza Win(ter) will rustle up hearty Italian favourite porchetta, with pork shoulder supplied from renowned breeder Ginger Pig . Then, after roasting over Kentish oak wood fires—come rain or shine—for four hours, it will be carved at your table, banquet style.
If that hasn’t got your mouth watering, we don’t know what will. Maybe Forza Win’s starters of Minestrone soup and a pig’s head salad made with cheek, ear and chestnuts? Or, if you’ve got room after all that (we should add that the porchetta comes with polenta potatoes too) how about dessert? You’ll be getting poached winter fruits with smoked marscapone—the perfect end to an Italian dinner made in a wintery wonderland.
For a bargain-basement price of £35, you get all this plus a hot cocktail on arrival and an acoustic set from folk band Josh Flowers and The Wild . Set in a secret location, simply described as a disused pickle factory in Hackney, the atmosphere will make this a pre-Christmas dinner to remember.
Even though this is likely to be a haven for the carnivores, the chefs have something special up their sleeves for the veggies too—just let them know when booking.
