Beehive Place, Pop Up Supper Club, Brixton ★★★★★

BACK FOR ONE LAST WEEKEND! Don't miss the return of Brixton pop up restaurant Beehive Place: our favourite new South London restaurant.

Heritage tomatoes from the Isle of Wight, wood sorrel, walnuts from Potash farm, foraged nettles and cow's curd
Our favourite new pop-up returns for one last weekend. We urge you to get down to Beehive place -- and book fast before the intimate supper club sells out.
The best dinner in Brixton?
Nestled behind Brixton Station is Beehive Place, an unassuming (oft unglamorous) side-street, which will this winter play host to an unmistakeable highlight on the South London pop up restaurant scene.
The Beehive Place pop up is a recent collaboration between the fantastic Chateau Marmot and Sam Hodges (formerly of Soho House), offering a cosy, top-quality dining experience in the atmospheric surrounds of an old Victorian hayloft.

Chateau Marmot have a track record of some of the best in 'temporary dining' (head to their website for some of their other hits), and at Beehive Place you can expect a menu – different each week, naturally – of the finest locally-sourced flavours woven together in cutting-edge British cuisine. Of the locally sourced restaurants London has to offer, this is certainly one of the best.
Review: Beehive Place ★★★★★
Beehive Place prides itself on offering the highest quality ingredients – and it certainly doesn't disappoint. Everything tastes (and is) incredibly fresh, from the sprouts of wild black garlic sourced by Beehive Place's in-house forager, to the scallops straight from the Isle of Man. If you're after one of the independent, ethical food restaurants London has amassed in recent months, don't look further than Beehive Place.
An opening course of Evesham radishes on a bed of Langley Farm buttermilk and sprouting rye set the standard for the rest of the dishes: fresh and crisp, the radishes make for the ideal amuse bouche – the chefs at Beehive Place clearly know what they're doing. Following this a Clarence Court pheasant's egg with Isle of Wight heirloom tomatoes and hung goat's yoghurt, on a crispy slice of sourdough bread – also as local as bread should be – from the E5 bakery.

Next up a succulent course of scallops from the Isle of Man was accompanied by foraged sea grass, 'Cobble Lane' bacon and wild garlic – plucked by hand by Beehive Place's very own forager. There are staff on hand to talk you through every dish they serve, so you'll never be in doubt as to what you're eating – and the places they source from are pleasing as punch, supporting independent farms across the UK.
The Wooley Farm Park guinea fowl with A. E. Brown asparagus, Norfolkian pea shoots and lemon oil made for a hearty main and will, after all the various delightful offerings, leave you feeling full – but happy. Nonetheless, there's always room for dessert, and what desserts they were – Burnt cream with Sweet Eve raspberries and Peelham Farm spelt made for a delectable finish to an incredibly memorable meal.
And then the wines...
The wine list, too, is beautifully curated, and there's a £24 wine tasting menu, all matched from independent growers, to complement the food. If wine doesn't tickle your fancy there's also a rotating menu of signature cocktails and some of London's finest craft beers and ales (Gipsy Hill will provide the in-house barrel) – all of which you can rely upon the Chateau Marmot team to serve up in a stunningly conceptualised space.
The bar is limited capacity 'til 10pm, when the doors are thrown open and the after-dinner entertainment laid on, with vinyl-only DJs spinning funk, disco, hip hop and soul 'til late.
With all this on the cards tickets are a steal at £35.
