The Old Truman Brewery
Five of the best food stalls at Ely's Yard food market, The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane,
CABOOSE
Serving slow-cooked pulled pork belly and shredded beef along with their house pickles and smoked cheese, the Caboose burger in a brioche bun has a justifiably devoted following amongst East London’s carnivores.
THE ORANGE BUFFALO
This food truck, which sells hot, succulent chicken wings, has been causing a stir with its in-house sauces. There are three on offer, ranging from a standard American style marinade, to the Viper, socalled as it contains the Naga Viper chili, one of the hottest in the world.
LA PIADINA PRONTA
Serving freshly made piadina, or fluffy homemade Italian flatbreads with authentic hot fillings, La Piadina Pronta offers a delicately flavoured fast food from its truck, seven days a week.
MOTHER CLUCKER
A favourite of food bloggers in the capital, Mother Clucker offers Londoners traditional southern fried chicken from their converted US army ambulance. The delicious flavours owe to the chicken’s preparation, which has been marinated in a sweet tea brine, and then coated in a secret blend of spices and buttermilk.
KOOKY BAKES
On Sundays, American-born bakers, Kooky Bakes, sell their small batch baked goods from the entrance of Ely’s Yard. We have a particular weakness for their Signature Slice, an indulgent tray bake inspired by their childhood with a pretzel base, white and dark chocolate, pecans, coconut and dulce de leche.
Open seven days a week.
