The Well in Clerkenwell enjoys a well-earned reputation as one of London's premier gastropubs, with a stylish wood-and-brick décor and an excellent menu featuring ingredients sourced from Billingsgate Market.
This autumn, to compliment their top-drawer gastropub cuisine, the Well are hosting The Pickle Jar in their cosy downstairs cocktail lounge. In partnership with Kentucky's Buffalo Trace Distillery, the space has been transformed into a stylish vintage hang-out, but the real attraction remains Pickle Jar's fantastic range of vinegar-based cocktails, shooters and chasers.
Take your pick(le) from the Shrubs - homemade fruit syrups with spirits or Prosecco, livened up with a splash of vinegar brine - or the Pickleback (a bourbon shot with your choice of pickle chaser), or if these sound a little too much for the tastebuds, sit back and relax in retro, autumnal surroundings and enjoy something more classic - a Sazerac with rosemary and absinthe or the Buffalo Trace take on a Manhattan, with maraschino cherry.
