Dirty Tommi’s, Kensington
Dirty Bones and Tommi's Burger team up: one of the best West London popups 2014-15.
A talent hybrid of Dirty Bones chef Ross Clarke (previously a chef at Blumenthal's Fat Duck experimental kitchen) and Siggi Gunnlaugsson from the Icelandic burger joint Tommi’s Burger has produced one of London’s most exciting pop-ups: Dirty Tommi’s.
Held every Sunday at Dirty Bones in Kensington, the menu will consist of a mixture of each restaurant’s signature dishes and a range of hot dogs, burgers and sides that fuses the best of both.
Highly recommended comes the outrageous Dirty Mac Burger (Tommi’s beef patty with the Dirty Bones steak glaze, charred lettuce, and a layer of Dirty Bones mac & cheese) and Tommi’s Bacon Dog (Dirty Bones hot dog and brioche bun with baby gem lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, Tommi’s special brûléed baconnaise and bacon bits).
Make sure to save room for some side dishes, which are equally delicious and include Sloppi Dirty Fries (Triple cooked fries covered in Tommi’s sloppi joe mince, topped with kimchi sauce & spring onions, and served with Dirty Bones gravy) and Dirty Mac & Cheese (Pecorino dolce based macaroni, chipotle, smoked paprika, Montgomery cheddar & cream cheese sauce, topped with toasted panko breadcrumbs).
All this can be washed down with a Dirty Hard Shake, such as the Strawberry Shortbread (vodka, strawberry & vanilla ice cream, milk, shortbread spread and strawberry sauce) or the Dirty Bounty (rum, coconut cream, chocolate ice cream, milk and chocolate sauce).
