An ode to wine: the team behind London Cocktail Week bring the capital a seven-day bacchanal, London Wine Week.

Attention, all wine lovers: whether connoisseur or curious. June 2-8 marks the inaugural London Wine Week. From the team behind the world-class London Cocktail Week, this seven day celebration gives the capital's oenophiles the chance to learn about, taste and enjoy the best vintages around. The festival is spread out across the city best bars and restaurants: wherever you are, there's an event for you.

How it works...

Once you've collected your wristband you are free to explore a range of events all over the capital. Wristbands are £10 and the events themselves range from £60 to no charge at all.

What to choose...

There are hundreds of events (full listings here), but we’re particularly excited about the Stellenbosch Stalwarts Dinner taking place at Vivat Bacchus Farringdon , on Monday. For just £10, attendees can expect to enjoy a specially designed pairing menu alongside wines from top flight Stellenbosch producers, Meerlust and Glenelly, as well as the chance to meet the makers. A fantastic way to start the week.

Anyone with a taste for the oaky wines from Spain's Rioja region, should make their way to Laithwaite's The Arch on Tuesday or Thursday evening. The Rioja Discovery Masterclasses explore the vineyards of the region, celebrating the dark smooth oak and rich fruit of Spain's flagship wine, complimented by traditional tapas. More details here. 

We suggest you the end week by sampling an exquisite range of wines and artisan food with the Three Wine Men Summer Tasting – run by the three biggest personalities in the wine world – at the Kia Oval (Sunday 8th June). Whether you are a wine connoisseur or enjoy the odd glass, this is an event for anyone with an interest in wine.
