Camden Beach, Roundhouse

This summer welcomes the return of 150 tonnes of sand to the 900 square metre roof terrace of the Roundhouse, forming a sliver of the British coast in the heart of north London. 

Candyfloss, ice-cream vans and arcade games all add to the seaside illusion while deck-chairs are scattered throughout the sand, which you can sink into with a gourmet hotdogs and champagne, pulled pork sandwich or a fresh salad box for the vegetarians/those striving for a bikini body this summer. 

Kick back with a cool cocktail under the sun (or light drizzle, knowing British weather) or beer or glass of wine from the rum shack or tiki hut; two-for-one cocktails and rums are on offer through happy hour, which is from 5 until 7 from Tuesday until Friday, and all night on Mondays.

For those looking to holiday in style, beach huts are available for £250 a day for up to eight people. The deal guarantees many treats, including a fridge full of beer, a platter of hot-dogs, ice-cream, queue-jump entry, and waiter service to your hut.
