Restaurants: Petersham Nurseries, Covent Garden
Petersham Nurseries Covent Garden is opening two new restaurants – The Petersham and La Goccia – as well as a bar and greenery-laden courtyard
We've already fallen in love
with their stunning interiors and lifestyle shop, as well as the Urban School of Garden workshop, but Petersham Nurseries Covent Garden is the gift that keeps on giving. On 23
April they will open two brand new restaurants: The Petersham and La Goccia.
And if that's not enough, they'll also be debuting La Goccia Bar, as well as
Floral Court: a stunning new courtyard space with 'evergreen walls' around
which the whole lifestyle space will be centred. Damien Clisby, head chef of
the renowned Petersham
Nurseries Café in Richmond, is on board to steer the food offering of both
restaurants.
The Petersham will be an 'elegant and refined à la carte' affair, serving lunch and dinner, as well as pre and post theatre menus. It will be grounded in the slow food approach that Petersham Nurseries has made central to its ethos, selling the highest quality seasonal produce turned into creative Italian inspired dishes. Expect Cornish day boat fish, salad from Petersham Nurseries, organic meat and handmade pasta, as well as the best artisan British and Itailan cheeses.
The interiors will draw inspiration from the family home of the Bogliones, Petersham Nurseries' owners. Expect understated grandeur, Murano glassware and gorgeous contemporary art.
La Goccia: Petersham Nurseries, Covent Garden
Alongside The Petersham will be a more laid-back all-day affair named La Goccia. Designed around an open kitchen, where diners can watch the chefs at work, creating a buzzing ambiance. The food will be Petersham’s take on cicchetti, the small plates made famous in London by the Polpo empire, as well as the classic Italian aperativo. Again the focus will be on seasonality, with an ever changing menu of fresh pasta, pizzette, fritti as well a monthly ‘hero ingredients’.
Both restaurants are now taking reservations. Snap up a table early for a springtime treat.
