Artisanal distiller Our / London are hosting a series of thought-leading masterclasses on fermentation across London this summer
Our / London, the artisanal vodka distillery run by the PR manager of The Rolling Stones, is launching a series of masterclasses throughout the summer. They'll focus on ways to combine fermented and preserved products into our everyday diets.
Taking place at the Our / London distillery in Hackney, the events (July 6th and 7th and August 17th) will showcase how to make food fit for the table from seasonal produce. Fermented canopies to try at the evening events will include pickles, chutneys and jams all made in-house.
Visitors will be able to get their hands dirty, and practice fermenting seasonal products themselves, while asking professionals questions. Naturally, Our / London vodka cocktails will be paired with the food made, and tips about home entertaining will be provided to give your own dinner parties some edge.
Masterclasses will also take a serious tone, and talk about how fermenting can aid gut health, and save you money on unnecessary weekly shops by preparing fermented products in advance for storage at home. The masterclasses are slightly different, ranging from supper clubs to masterclasses. Our favourite two are below.
The events to book tickets for now are;
Joey O'Hare and Kino Vino: Preserved at the Our / London Vodka Distillery, July 6th from 7.00pm
£37.76 tickets include a four-course vegetarian feast, cooked by Masterchef: The Professionals judge Joey, and Joey of Kino Vino. The sharing feast will incorporate bold flowers and much preserved goods, and a discussion will be around how to combine preserved foods into cocktails and food that pair well. Buy tickets
Kylee Newton 'Shrub Cocktail' Masterclass, August 17th from 7.00pm
£30 tickets include an intimate evening with Kylee, a cook and cookbook author. The evening includes two cocktails, including a welcome drink and one guests make themselves from preserved ingredients. Canapes made from preserved ingredients are included all night, and guests are gifted with an in-house-made bottle of preserved cordial to take home in a Le Parfait jar. Buy tickets
