Nobu Shoreditch
World-acclaimed restaurant giants Nobu will open in Shoreditch this July, with modern Japanese food, and an outdoor terrace for 80
Nobu, the famous Japanese restaurant group, are finally extending their London offering.
The Nobu group was founded by the world's most renowned Japanese celebrity chef, Nobu Matsuhisa, alongside Robert De Niro and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The group has restaurants on five continents which reflect Nobu's approach, combining opulence, style and modernity.
Nobu Shoreditch will first and foremost be a hotel, but it will also have a hefty restaurant fit for 200 guests, and an outdoor terrace for 80. Nobu's modern Japanese food has a suitably refined setting – glamorous interior touches include a five-metre-high glass wall to connect the terrace to the restaurant's bar, and, no matter the weather, the terrace will feel bright and cheerful with partially-covered roofing.
The bar will serve world class sake only available at Nobu, and 'one of the greatest whisky libraries in London'.
The restaurant will mirror the approach of the Mayfair flagship by serving innovative Japanese food, with a separate sushi bar and private dining space. Signature dishes by Executive Chef Greg Seregi and Executive Sushi Chef Noriyoshi Teruya will include Black Cod with Miso and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, and will sit alongside dishes inspired by Shoreditch. They include Hokaido Scallops with Foie Gras, Sautéed Japanese Mushrooms, Aji Matsuhisa and aged Balsamic and Sea Bass with Yuzu Kosho, Tomato and Cucumber Salsa, Honey Truffle and Black Truffle Shavings.
Nobu Shoreditch will be the first from the group to offer breakfast and dishes will include Benedict Matsuhisa with Crab, Sauteed Spinach, Crispy Tofu and Shiso Bearnaise and Matcha Waffle with Chicken and Smoked Maple Ponzu.
Nobu Mayfair is one of London's best-looking restaurants, although the look is more simple than excessive. Using impressive and unusual materials, the restaurants mirror the look of their environments. In the case of Nobu Shoreditch, there's a palette of concrete, bronze and rich oak in a celebration of east London's industrial past.
Opening date: 1 July
Time: 7am - 11am, 12am - 3pm, 6pm - 11pm daily
