Little Smoke, Barbican

Native, rare breed meat, butchered on site then roasted, smoked and grilled in the City.

Little Smoke, Barbican
Smokehouse in Islington (not to be confused with Rök Smokehouse) has been serving dishes with a meat focus since 2013. The Pig and Butcher and the Princess of Shoreditch - also from Noble Inns, the team behind the Smokehouse - have also been great successes. Up next is Little Smoke, in the City.

At Smokehouse, the brainchild of husband and wife team Scott Hunter and Maria Larsen, there is a blackboard where more interesting or unusual cuts are cooked to supplement the à la carte menu. Little Smoke will be that specials menu writ large: a focus on rare, native breeds which will be butchered at Smokehouse and smoked in-house.

The focus on ethical sourcing and small producers carries through to the mostly European wine list, featuring only co-ops and family growers, with plenty of biodynamic and organic wines making appearances, and the bubbles coming strictly from England.

There will be a soft launch from 4th -7th October, with 50% off food. If you want to eat half price it will be best to book, as they are already accepting reservations. You can book via their website, or keep up to date on their instagram.
