The Connaught's first festive afternoon tea

Candy floss, chocolate fondue and gingerbread men take to the tea stand, as Jean-Georges at The Connaught launches its first festive afternoon tea

The Connaught's first festive afternoon tea
The sweet smell of Christmas baking wafts through The Connaught’s extraordinary stained-glass tearoom this winter, as Jean-Georges at The Connaught serve their first festive afternoon tea.

Gourmet candy floss, decadent black forest chocolate mousse, and a collection of almond praliné coconut rochers are just the start of the decadent afternoon tea on offer.

Head Pastry Chef Nicolas Rouzaud has created an unparalleled festive menu – it’s worth the trip just to bite into one of his chestnut tarts, filled with blueberry jam and mulled wine jelly, or dip into the delicious chocolate fondue. Pair with a celebratory glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée champagne for ultimate indulgence.

For a lighter savoury touch, Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten has developed an Asian-inspired selection of traditional tea sandwiches, using fresh lemongrass, yuzu and coriander. Accompanying the sandwiches are the Connaught's classic scones, with homemade strawberry jam, lemon curd and cornish clotted cream.

Vibrant, festive, and fresh – The Connaught’s festive afternoon tea is worth every penny.

Price per person: £75 (inclusive of a glass of Laurent Perrier - Brut)
