FutureFest, Tobacco Dock
Discover our ability to change the future with a visionary festival of talks, comedy, music, art and interactive experiences
Due to ongoing concerns over Covid-19, FutureFest has been postponed until further notice
What does the future hold? Discover a world of new possibility and fresh thinking at a visionary festival of talks, comedy, performances and multi-sensory experiences. FutureFest takes over Tobacco Dock this March with a prestigious line-up of speakers including documentary-maker Louis Theroux, comedian Richard Ayoade, Extinction Rebellion co-founder Gail Bradbrook, politician David Lammy and singer turned activist Charlotte Church.
Hosted by innovation foundation Nesta, the one-day festival celebrates our power to shape the future. Alongside the high-profile speakers, there will be an array of activities and experiences. From an immersive dinner date that uses psychological data to create intimacy between strangers, to an augmented reality comedy set aboard a ship, the experiences use the latest science to expand your horizons.
There's Aquarium, an interactive performance that makes you part of a fishy heist in the middle of a busy tourist attraction. Or you can look beyond the earth in Osmo, an inflatable infinity space created from NASA space material which offers a beginners' guide to the universe.
Through the diverse selection of events, FutureFest tackles the biggest issues that affect humanity, from climate change and mental health to data protection and the future of tech, arming us with the insight and expertise to better understand the world around us.
