Designer French heritage brand Robert Clergerie opens its second London shoe store in South Kensington

Shoes have been rather fetishised of late, with an exhbition at the V&A and the Design Museum deconstructing their composition and obsessing over their history. This November however there's a rather simpler approach to footwear. La Maison Robert Clergerie has been making its beautiful, grown-up, designer shoes since 1895 and is known for its unique reinterpretation of beautiful classic creations for both men and women.
The brand is opening its second store in London, featuring a new retail concept designed to reflect its French heritage. This new shop opening in London co-incides with the label's 120th anniversary this year.
Balancing tradition whilst channeling modernity, Robert Clergerie has always managed to stay at the forefront of cutting-edge design. This is in part thanks to Creative Director Roland Mouret who took the helm in 2011. Today their iconic brogues, the architectural shapes, strong heels and blocks with a mix of materials (including innovative designs using articulated wood and signature raffia) make the opening of a new Robert Clergerie shoe shop in London exciting enough to rival the new Dior Pop-up on Mount Street that everyone is talking about.
