International Woolmark Prize winners Public School and M.PATMOS launch at Harvey Nichols
For those who don't know what the International Woolmark Prize is, it's one of the most coveted and respected accolades in the industry.
Earlier this year a panel of fashion insiders including Victoria Beckham and Sir Paul Smith and Harvey Nichols' Group Fashion Buying Director Anita Barr, awarded the AW 14/15 prize to Public School for menswear and M.PATMOS for womenswear.
And now, our favourite Knightsbridge store is introducing the winning collections to their illustrious halls. So who are Public School and M.PATMOS?
As you might expect from a brand named Public School, thick broodingly dark merino wool, like the darkest, edgiest school uniforms imaginable, fill the collection, exploring needle-punching, felting and boiling techniques to bring newness to natural knitwear with a neutral palette.
The menswear capsule matches sporty, urban styling with a tribal edge. The colour palette is typical of the designing masterminds behind the brand, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborn, who when asked if they ever used colour said: "Yeah we use colour... we use black, light black and lighter, blighter black which some people call grey."
For women, Maria Patmos is the talent behind New York City-based RTW brand M.PATMOS. Inspired by well-travelled modern women, the M.PATMOS Woolmark collection showcases the versatility of premium merino wool with a focus on relaxed, luxurious shapes and unexpected detailing.
These season-less pieces are designed for Maria Patmos' muse and fulfil her request for comfort and performance without sacrificing luxury, style or elegance and include wrinkle free, temperature regaling, SPF containing fibres that are soft and lightweight.
Head over to the Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge store to embrace innovative knitwear that will have your winter style all wrapped up.
