Manolo Blahnik Bag Collection launch

He's best known as the creator of some of the most beautiful and desirable shoes in the world, but Manolo Blahnik is expanding his fashion empire with the launch of his first full handbag collection. Due to arrive at the end of July, the new handbag designs are priced from £1,320 to £1,480 and feature a vast array of satin hues in bright pinks, blues, reds and purples, and the Blahnik-style Swarovski crystals that hark back to his famous crystal encrusted shoe designs - of the kind that Mr Big proposed to Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City.
The collection will be available at the Manolo Blahnik boutique on Old Church Street but also in Liberty and Harrods where the designer shoes are currently sold.
Speaking to Vogue, Blahnik said: "I am always inspired by beautiful women from the past and present, so when I thought about doing a collection of bags, I was sure they were going to be evening bags for the women of today. I love ornaments in my shoes so why not add these to the bags too? These bags are an extension of some of the shoe styles I really like as I wanted to keep the connection between the shoes and bags."
