New shop opening London Victoria Beckham's shop in Dover Street opened last summer, solidifying her credentials as a designer. Now with an immaculately clad foot firmly in the door the former Spice Girl has taken a step further into the fold. New season pieces from Victoria Beckham have just landed at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge in her first dedicated shop-in-shop in the UK. Situated on the ground floor, the new space reflects the aesthetic of her Victoria Beckham's London flagship store with design details crafted by Farshid Moussavi Architecture. Victoria herself commented “I’m so excited to be able to offer my Harvey Nichols customers a specific experience in which they can shop my handbags. To see my accessories collection in its own tailor made space is a really special moment for me and my brand.” Victoria Beckham designer Victoria Beckham's first collection, 2008, unexpectedly rumbled the fashion pack when it showed in New York with Nicole Phelps of Style.com noting " believe it or not, (Victoria Beckham dresses) are one of the hottest things going in New York this week. Her sheaths and shift dresses ... will sell not on the power of her name but on the sophistication of their cut and fit." In the last five years Beckham has continued to garner style credentials and has since moved away from her signature "It" dresses to launch accessories and more extensive collections as well. In recent years critics have begun to demand more from Victoria Beckham as a designer, challenging her to be innovative as well as wearable. Whilst the success of later collections is more disputed, the new shop opening in London is testament to the drive and expanding fashion prowess of Victoria Beckham as an industry player. The launch also comes just in time for London Fashion Week which will take place at the end of the month; fans of the designer have ample time to prep their wardrobes before the fashion event takes place.
