Jonathon Anderson in Conversation, V&A

Tim Blanks chats to J.W. Anderson, the British high fashion innovator, about his cutting-edge craft

Jonathon Anderson in Conversation, V&A
Real creativity breaks down boundaries. Jonathon Anderson, who's known for delivering gender-fluid fashion through his self-titled label, excels at this. His mens and womenswear collections seep seamlessly into each other, often resulting in some beautiful and brilliant statement pieces. With his clothing, we get the best of both worlds.

This winter, he's in conversation with Tim Blanks at the V&A in the Lydia & Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre. Listeners will be treated to an insight into his process, his inspirations and what has driven his game-changing career as a designer.

Anderson's artistic fluidity is reflected in the range of projects that he's taken on. In 2013, he became the creative director of Loewe, a renowned Spanish brand specialising in luxury leather with plush and striking prints. He then collaborated with Uniqlo this autumn for a host of understated yet punchy winter-wear wonders and even teamed up with A$AP Rocky in 2016, creating some swaggering street apparel with a high fashion twist.

As the only person to have ever picked up the British Fashion Awards' 'Menswear' and 'Womenswear Designer of the Year' in the same sitting, Anderson stands at the helm of British fashion. With his emphasis on gender-bending flair for the modern age, the talk is set to be a real masterclass in sartorial craft.
