Summer jewellery trends 2019
Meet the major jewellery trends summer 2019 is pushing to the fore
Colourful earrings
There's an art school vibe to the use of colour in jewellery this season: think chunky shapes and paintbox hues for a bright way to bring an outfit to life.
Clockwise from left: Orange £46, Anthropologie; Mismatched £225, Timeless Pearly; Neon £8, Accessorize; Pink £275 Balenciaga
Crystal
Everything seems better with a smattering of sparkle, which is why we're adopting a liberal dusting over jewellery and hair accessories. Shine on.
Clockwise from left: Crystal hairclips £80 for two, Jennifer Behr; Earrings £69, Atelier Swarovski by Penelope Cruz; Necklace £895, Miu Miu; Ring £59, Missoma London
Shells
Sea shells aren't just for the sea shore anymore, as the vogue for holiday souvenir jewellery continues. With necklaces strung with the real thing, ceramic doppelgangers and precious metals dotted with pearls, we'll be wearing this trend long past summer's end.
Clockwise from left: Necklaces £125, and £130, both Wald Berlin; Necklace £ 41.10, Shashi; Hoop earrings £17, & Other Stories; Shell earrings 380€, Bjorg
Anklets
The Nineties are back in a big way, and anklets are replacing the choker as the retro jewellery to wear right now. We'll take ours delicate, strung with charms and stacked up over our favourite sandals, thanks.
Clockwise from left: Anklets, from a selection, Alighieri; Charm anklet £103, Chan Luu; Embellished anklet £219, Meadowlark; Bell charm anklet £50, Ancient Greek Sandals
Pearls
The lustre of a delicate pearl is still hard to resist especially when placed with precision on earrings, hairclips and more - like pretty maids all in a row. More organic shapes are to be celebrated too.
Clockwise from left: Pearl jewellery, from a selection, Links of London; Earrings 260E, Bjorg; Hairclips £22 for two, Anthropologie; Hoops £160, Sylvia Toledano; Earrings $150, Stone and Strand
