Arlettie London: sample sales get a luxurious new home

This September, a best-kept Parisian style secret lands in London by way of Arlettie London, the invitation-only private sample sale space setting up shop in Fitzrovia's Margaret Street.

Often the most treasured pieces in our wardrobes are the ones that we picked up, wide-eyed, at a sample sale. Carrie Bradshaw famously scored her favourite pair of Manolo Blahniks at one, after all. But to the untrained sample-saler the notion may conjure visions of warring shoppers wrestling over a one-of-a-kind piece amidst crowded rails. On top of this, sample sale sizing can be relatively restrictive, and cater only to the size zeros among us. Enter Arlettie - the collective remedying all such woes with an entirely new sample sale experience.



Launched in Paris in 1995, news of Arlettie quickly spread through fashion's capital by word of mouth. Soon the French style set had signed up to become Arlettie members and shop collections of the most sought-after luxury brands (think Lanvin, Joseph, Jimmy Choo, The Kooples and more) at up to 80% off in a luxury environment.

Now, we Londoners can do the same. Unlike many sample sales, Arlettie London believes that sample sale shopping should be a pleasure for everyone, and therefore a full range of sizes are available.
