Grown up glam: the year fashion got babyish
A year or so ago, fastening a clip into your hair or pushing it back with an Alice band would have been like returning to the playground for a game of hopscotch.
But, with Miuccia Prada having sent models storming down the runway in Alice bands, Alexa Chung spotted with girlish clips fixed at her temple, influencers plaiting ribbons into their 'dos, and headlines screaming about Kate Middleton's love of bows, nostalgic hair accessories are set to dominate in 2019.
After a period punctuated with anti-romance, sports apparel and dad trainers, playful, the return of playful, decorative touches is a welcome one. From Rejina Pyo and Ashish (and promptly to the highstreet) there's plenty of fun to be had with hair accessories in 2019.

Small bows, big bows, thin bows, thick bows... Whether designer and embellished or DIY strips of ribbon haphazardly place, a bow is the finishing touch du jour. Even Liberty is in board, collaborating with Taylor Taylor to deliver hairstyles tied up in their classic-print scarfs.
