Top interiors trends: 2023 is about comfort and dark pink shades
Sicilian Treasures
If you watched the latest season of White Lotus, you will be familiar with the Italian opulence on display. We may not all be able to afford a Palermo palazzo but we can capture a slice of Sicily in our own homes with olive-green furnishings, solid marble and colourful vases.
Comfortcore
The Scandinavian concept of hygge (comfort) is manifesting itself in our interiors in 2023. Invest in cocoon-like furniture or upgrade your existing furnishings with soft textures like fur seat cushions and wool throws.
Curves
Complementing the comfortcore trend is a desire for softer, circular edges.
Paper lighting
Inspired by Japanese artist Isamu Noguchi’s Akari paper lamps (which were displayed in a stunning retrospective last year at the Barbican), this trend is seeing a deserved revival in 2023. The key is to invest in quality shades and lamps in interesting shapes to cast a warm, white light.
Transparent
A timeless trend that is seeing a bit of a renaissance in 2023. Refreshingly modern, transparent furniture and accessories can invoke a sense of balance in any space.
Viva Magenta
PANTONE's 2023 colour of the year is Viva Magenta- bold, exuberant and perfect for adding a splash of joy to your home.
